Hello

Hey there! My name is Shannon Allen, I’m the primary writer behind the scenes at Timeless Travel. Let me share a bit about my journey. On a personal note, I have been happily married for 27 years. My husband and I are proud parents of one son, a daughter-in-law and we have the most wonderful little grandson. Growing up poor, neither of us had a chance to travel for vacation purposes with our parents. He and I married very young (16 and 18) and literally started with nothing but love, a dream and a brand-new baby boy! Life was hard, but we didn't let that stop us. It was several years into our marriage before we could afford to take our very first trip to the beach. I think our son was around seven or 8 at the time. We chose to go to Myrtle Beach, as this was one of the closest to our home in Kentucky and the location was recommended though a family friend. I will never forget how all three of us felt when we saw the ocean for the very first time. I vividly remember the smell of the salty ocean air and sunblock, while the sound of beach goers were laughing and having fun and the sound of small planes flew overhead, advertising for local shops. Since then, we have traveled a lot within the United States for our own family vacations and work-related trips. More recently, we have fell in love with international travel as well.

 

As far as work history, I have been a waitress, photographer and a factory worker, among other things. While those jobs were fine, I decided in my mid-twenties to attend nursing school. I knew that this would allow me to help provide a better and more stable income for my family. I have now spent the past 16 years in the medical field, initially as a registered nurse, followed by becoming a nurse practitioner and then later branching over into medical sales. Being in the medical field has been such a rewarding career choice, allowing me to help others when they need it most.

 

With all that being said, travel has been our deep passion for quite some time. This passion has allowed us to explore many new destinations and meet lots of incredible people. Now that we are "empty nesters," my husband and I have started to visit some romantic all-inclusive beach resorts in the Caribbean. We cannot wait to check off many more destinations from our travel bucket list and will certainly share with you as we go along! Let us be an inspiration for booking your next big adventure!
